Meet Tai Sheridan
Zen Contemplative & Teacher

Writer, artist, psychologist, yoga teacher trainer, and ordained Zen Buddhist, Tai Sheridan is the author of the bestselling contemplative Buddha in Blue Jeans series. He created the Spiritual Embodiment Ritual for awakening deep silence and presence.

Tai practiced Zen for fifty years with the Berkeley, San Francisco, and Dharma Eye Zen Centers. He also studied extensively with Tai Chi and Yoga Masters. His doctorate is in somatic psychology, which he practiced for many decades. He retired in Port Townsend, Washington, and offers free teachings and books to benefit everyone.

Spiritual Embodiment Ritual

The Spiritual Embodiment Ritual is a living practice designed to help people integrate body, mind, and spirit in everyday life. It is a simple sequence of movements and inward sensing that guides you to deep inner silence and presence. Rather than striving for transcendence, the ritual emphasizes presence. Awakening, in this approach, is about becoming whole.

“I have shelves of Buddhist books. The ones I return to most often are Tai Sheridan’s—because they remind me to actually be here.”

“I never understood meditation until I read Tai Sheridan. His words helped me feel the body, breath, and moment in an entirely new way.”

“This is Zen without pretense—gentle, direct, and startlingly alive.”

“Few authors write about awakening with such warmth. You feel accompanied rather than instructed.”
“Sheridan has a rare gift: he makes non-dualism feel natural, experiential, and human.”

“Sheridan re-enchants the ordinary. After reading him, even washing the dishes feels sacred.”

“His Zen is alive, embodied, and compassionate—something you feel in your bones, not just understand in your mind.”

“Each sentence feels like it has been polished by decades of practice—pure, distilled insight.”
